We owe it to each other to tell stories - Neil Gaiman

About me

I have always enjoyed books, but my love for books really blossomed in 1997 when I discovered Roald Dahl at the tender age of 9. Previously I had read The Giraffe, the Pelly and Me. I was enthralled- I read one book after the other till I'd read all the Dahl titles at the library. After Dahl, I read Enid Blyton - her fairy and brownies stories and of course the Famous Five and Secret Seven books.

The first book I really loved though, was Charlotte's Web that my Grade 2 (then Sub B) teacher Miss Hobson read to us in class. I went to the library that very day to get Charlotte's Web.

My taste is a bit more diverse now than it was then and than it was when I started this blog, but I do still enjoy Roald Dahl and Charlotte's Web.

Who are my favourite authors?

I still adore Dahl and have started collecting his books. And I think I should give Enid Blyton a reread. I am a great fan of J.D. Salinger and ... Of the newer authors I adore Jeffrey Eugenides, Charlaine Harris, L.J. Smith, J.K. Rowling, Josephine Angelini, Madelyn Alt, Lorna Barrett and John Grisham.
